In its medium-term management plan made public on September 22, 2005, Sony has unveiled a plan to cut 10,000 jobs at Group operations worldwide by the end of 2007. The consumer appliances giant is withdrawing from unprofitable businesses, and will concentrate investments on the three fields of electronics, game systems and entertainment.
