Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi on Nov. 16 said in the meeting with U.S. President George W. Bush, that the ban on U.S. beef imports to Japan should be lifted at an early date. The ban has been a longstanding dispute between the two countries. The imports are estimated to resume before the end of the year.
