More Speed to Invest in Flat-screen

Sharp Corp. said on Jan. 11 it will male additional investments on liquid crystal panels for flat-screen TVs, the electronics maker said on Jan. 11. The announcement comes only after Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. unveiled the plan on Jan. 10 to spend more money on plasma TV production. TV manufacturers are accelerating the moves to reinforce flat-screen TV production facilities, as related investments are pouring in one after another.
