Livedoor Co. on Jan. 24 announced that President Takafumi Horie stepped down. Horie was arrested a day before the announcement. The IT celebrity is now abruptly kicked out of the company he founded.
Livedoor share prices are almost daily suffering its largest one-day loss allowed under stock market rules, making the company’s shares mere paper scraps.
Ironical postings appear in weblogs, saying “Horiemon (Horie’s nickname after Doraemon, a cartoon cat) will change his name to Muichimon (meaning no money) next month.” Netizens now regard Horie as penniless.
