Major banking groups’ consolidated statements for Apr.-Dec. 2005 came out on Feb. 15. All 6 major groups showed a surplus, with Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Inc. posting a profit of over 1 trillion yen. As for the fiscal year ending Mar. 2006, total profit of 6 groups is expected to reach 2.8 trillion yen, 3.8 times larger than the previous term.
