Major retailer Aeon Co. announced on Mar. 14 it has completed the takeover bid for Origin Toshu Co., a takeout boxed-meal chain. Aeon will subsidize Origin through the deal, hoping to expand the selling space in its stores for Origin’s prepared food. It also aims to prop up the convenience store business by jointly developing products and sales floors.
