Nissan Motor Co. will sell its stake in Nissan Diesel Motor Co. to Swedish carmaker Volvo AB, the company announced on Mar. 21. Nissan is now Nissan Diesel’s largest shareholder, and is to sell 13 percent of its 19 percent stake in the truck manufacturer.
As the largest shareholder for Volvo and Nissan is French car giant Renault SA, the deal is expected to strengthen the partnership among 4 automakers including Nissan Diesel. Renault and Nissan alliance aims to place emphasis on passenger vehicle business.
