Government Discloses Current Land Prices Online

4, 11. 2006

Japan’s administrative institution will quarterly disclose current real estate prices, figured out from the research based on land registry books, over the Internet. The prices are to be available on the website named “Total Information System for Land”, set up by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

The MLIT will begin the information disclosure for six major cities in late April, including Tokyo and Osaka. By March 2007, the service will be expanded to all 15 major cities designated by government ordinance. The ministry attempts to make property deals smoother by providing information.
