Japan’s major information systems vendors announced on Apr. 12 to jointly revise the methods to describe specification documents. They aim to standardize the description methods to make documents easier to understand.
In the papers, requirements for system development, such as how the systems should work, are stated. The written materials have currently been hard to understand for their customers, as terms and formats in them are used differently every time the systems are constructed.
The companies seek to disclose the draft for standardization around October. The new standards are to be discussed in a study team, comprised of six companies: NTT Data Corp,, Fujitsu Ltd., NEC Corp., Hitachi Ltd., Kozo Keikaku Engineering Inc. and Toshiba Solutions Corp.
