Moneylender Aiful Ordered to Stop Operations

4, 14. 2006

Aiful Corp, Japan’s major consumer loan firm, was ordered to stop most of its operations at all outlets from May 8 to 10. The Kinki Finance Bureau of the Ministry of Finance issued a statement in the afternoon of Apr. 14. Banned services do not include accepting repayments.

The punishment was made after company’s multiple violations against the Moneylending Control Law, such as strong-arm methods to collect money, became evident. Five shops, where noncompliance was found, are to be closed for 20 to 25 days.
