About one-third of the people feel that the prices have risen compared to a year ago, according to the report announced by the Bank of Japan on Apr.13. The questionnaire about consciousness of life says that the percentage of the people feeling the price boost marked the highest level since November 1998.
9.7% of the respondents, making increase of 2.7 points over last year, say they received more income. Those who told their earnings decreased were 36.1%, down by 8.7 points.
The research was conducted on 4,000 people from Feb. 23 to Mar. 15, and the number of respondent was 1,774.
