Canon Inc. has the largest shipment share in the U.S. digital camera market for the first time, Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported on May 11, quoting U.S. research firm IDC.
The new leader gained 19.3% for the first quarter of 2006, followed by 17.1% of Sony Corp. Eastman Kodak Corp., the former No.1, slipped to third place. It drastically lost its share from 19.7% to 14.5% in a year.
