Honda Motor Co. on May 17 unveiled its plan to launch its new hybrid model in 2009. The hybrids are to be manufactured at Suzuka Factory in Central Japan, and the automaker established a worldwide sales target of 200,000 units a year.
Honda says the new model will be cheaper than Civic Hybrid, now sold at about 2.2 million yen. It is to terminate the production of existing hybrid model Insight, because of its poor sales.
