The Japan Business Federation (Nippon Keidanen) on May 24 officially nominated Fujio Mitarai from Canon Inc. as new Chairman. He is the first Chairman from the IT industry. Hiroshi Okuda, Mitarai’s predecessor, served for 4 years.
“I will endeavor to make Japan technology and industry oriented nation,” Mitarai said before the general meeting, in which he was elected.
