Toyota Motor Corp. is going to participate in 24-hour race with its hybrid vehicle. According to Toyota’s announcement on July 4, this is the first carmaker-led attempt to enter full-scale race with a hybrid vehicle. Commercially produced Lexus GS450h will be remodeled for the race.
The automaker will also make use of the harsh experience in the race for future development, such as miniaturization and weight saving.
The race is to take place from July to 15 to 17 in Hokkaido, Northern Japan.
