Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. announced on July 19 to begin manufacturing anti-influenza drug Tamiflu for the first time in Japan. Chugai says it has just started building facilities and actual product will be made as early as 2009. It will make improved version of Tamiflu, which has been imported from F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd of Switzerland.
