Nippon Paper and Hokuetsu to Talk for Business Ties

Nippon Paper Group Inc. and Hokuetsu Paper Mills are to begin talks for business alliance, newspapers reported on Sep. 11. The alliance will include original equipment manufacturing　of flagship printing paper. Nippon Paper obtained a number of Hokuetsu shares to discourage Oji Paper’s hostile takeover bid for Hokuetsu.
