Japan Gets out of Deflation, IMF Projects

The International Monetary Fund said on Sep. 13 in its semiannual World Economic Outlook report that signs of Japanese Economy’s final recovery from deflation are becoming clearer. It also said, however, risks of a relapse into deflation cannot be ignored. As for the Bank of Japan’s policies, the IMF suggested the increase of interest rates should be gradual. According to this IMF’s report, Japan's economy is estimated to mark the real economic growth rate of 2.7% for 2006, 2.1% for 2007 respectively.
