Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co., Ltd started selling a new type of insurance named Thunder Derivative on Oct. 17. Companies can receive compensations for damages and profit decrease caused by lightning strikes. This is the first insurance in Japan to be specialized in compensations for damages by lightning. If the number of lightning in a specific area exceeds the designated number, customers will be paind according to its number.
