Nissan fails to achieve sales target for the first time

4, 26. 2007

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. is planning to put off until fiscal 2009 the achievement of a sales target of 4.2 million vehicles originally set for fiscal 2008, newspapers reported on their April 14, 2007 issues. It would be the first time for the company to fail to achieve an annual sales goal since Carlos Ghosn assumed his position as the company’s president in 2000. The company’ overall sales are believed to have been affected by its sluggish overseas sales. The postponement is expected to be officially made public when the company announces its account settlement on April 26.
