Adways Co., Ltd., an advertising agency that offers service at affiliate fees, or result-oriented fees, started its business on the online virtual world Second Life by establishing an agency named “JANet”. When a merchandise is sold as a result of advertising though JANet, the advertiser pays a fee to the agency. A part of the fee is returned to the purchaser in the virtual currency (Linden Dollar) of the Second Life.
