The total number of impressions, or postings, of banner advertisement on the internet reached about 36.9 billion in fiscal 2006, according to a survey on the internet advertisement trend for the year announced on June 11, 2007 by Video Research Interactive, Inc. (VRI). By industries, the number of the impressions posted by the IT industry far exceeded those of others at about 12.6 billion (34.3%), followed next by the manufacturing industry at about 7.4 billion (20.2%). These two industries accounted for more than half of the total.
