Yahoo! Japan, the major portal site in Japan, enjoyed the largest number in the world of accesses (page view) in May 2007, the internet research company NetRatings announced on June 25, 2007. According to the announcement, the number of accesses to Yahoo! Japan from internet users at home and working places during the month reached 31.8 billion, surpassing 31.6 billion for Yahoo! of the United States, 29.6 billion for News Corp. Online and 21.2 billion for Google. The users of Yahoo! Japan accounted for 88% of all internet users at home. This means about 90% of internet users made use of Yahoo! Japan portal site at least once a month.
