Use of internet reflects income disparity: white paper

The higher the income, the more frequent utilization of the internet among the Japanese people, according to the Information and Communications White Paper for 2007 announced by the Internal Affairs and Communications Ministry on July 3, 2007. The white paper said it might be possible the amount of information people get influences the amount of their income. It said there is a "positive correlation" between the rates of internet utilization　by PC or mobiles and the use of the broadband. The rate of the internet utilization for households with an annual income of less than 2 million is 52.9%, that for the income category between 6 million yen and less than 8 million yen is 78.3%, and that for the category with more than 20 million yen is 86.4%.
