Keio University to open campus in Second Life

Keio University and Dentsu, Inc. announced on July 31, 2007 that they will establish a joint research center, "Keio University Second Life Campus", in the internet-based three dimensional virtual world Second Life. It will be located in the "Virtual Tokyo", the virtual area created by Dentsu in Second Life. Jun Murai, professor at environmental information faculty of the Shonan Fujisawa Campus (SFC) of the university, will take part in the Second Life campus. Lectures for official courses of the university will also be given at the newly established campus, which will be open to the public. Keio is the first Japanese university to open a campus in Second Life.
