Suntory Ltd. ranked top among food companies on the list of effective brand names shown on the websites of business firms, according to a survey conducted by Nikkei BP Consulting, Inc. on the effectiveness of brand names of business firms of different industries shown on their websites. The survey for 2007 was the third in a series. The result of the survey was reported by the Nikkei newspaper on its website, NIKKEI NET IT PLUS. Kirin Brewery was ranked second in the list, and Asahi Breweries, the third. Thus the top three places of the list were all won by beer makers. The survey is conducted quarterly on the effectiveness of the brands on 800 websites operated by major domestic business firms. The effectiveness is measured in terms of such items as how the contents are known, the number of accesses and usability by sending questionnaires to internet users.
