Spectacle frames with earphone-size speakers attached to temples.
Vision Optic Co. Ltd. started selling at its all 262 shops throughout Japan from Sept. 15 the "NTDO eteSibuc", spectacle frames with earphone-size speakers attached to their temples. It is said to be the first type of spectacle frame that can also be used as the head-phone.
The small speakers are attached to the spectacle frame MYDO sold by Vision Optic. They are not put into the ear holes but pressed against the area below the ear so that the sounds can be heard through the bones acting as the conductor like the audiphones. The temples of the MYDO have the specially designed double layers so that the frames fit firmly to the face. This made it possible to attach the audiphones-like speakers to the temples. With the new frames make it possible to hear music like headphone stereos without earphones plugged in the ear holes. Since the frames firmly fit the face, the users can enjoy playing sports without putting off glasses. The temples are interchangeable with the normal type without the speakers. The new products have two types and each of them comes in the four different colours of red, blue, orange and grey. They come in a set each consisting of the frame with the speakers attached, normal lens, extra temple and earphone jack. The sets are priced at 38,000 yen each with tax.
