日本語 Only imagining can move avatar on PC screen. Keio University succeeds on Second Life10, 19. 2007 "Just imagine you are walking, and your avatar on the PC screen linked to the internet walk as you imagine." This is made possible by a technology developed by Keio University, it was announced on Oct. 11, 2007. To move your avatar in the virtual world Second Life on the internet, you usually punch on the keyboard with your hands. But the new technology makes it possible to make the movement only by imagining without touching anything. Study is now being made to apply this technology to the rehabilitation of the physically disabled. A progress is being made in research and development in various places in developing the technology, "brain computer interface", to read the brain waves by which to operate computers. The university researchers, however, made efforts to apply the technology to move the avatar on Second Life. The researchers have so far succeeded in having the avatar of a person make a move for making a right turn when its a person with electric sensors attached to his/her head imagines to move the right arm. They are now improving the technology so that the avatar can do shopping in Second Life by only imagining to do so. Related Stories in J-CAST NewsRecent Stories in this category
