Maserati Sport GT S to land in Japan in spring of 2008

   Cornes & Comapany Limited announced that it will start selling in Japan the flagship sports car of Italian Maserati, the Quattroporte Sport GT S, from around the spring of 2008. The car, first introduced at the Frankfurt motor show in September 2007, is one of the most sporty models produced by Maserati. It is priced at 15.95 million yen.

   It is equipped with a 401-ps engine and has the "passive suspension system" for the racing setting that gives the better traction and acceleration. It has also the brake system that has been developed jointly with the world-famous Italian brake maker Brembo and tires made jointly with Perelli. The car weighs over 2 tons, but it gives a high moving capability with the top speed of 270km/h.

   Carbon fiber and aluminium are used in the production of its body and its front seat is the sports-type seat that snugly holds the driver. Its interior is designed so as to give the sporty feeling. For its steering wheel and the central part of the seat, Maserati's traditional leather materials made by Poltrona Frau combined with Alcantara are used.
