Kobayashi Pharmaceutical, held for exaggerated labelling of sterilizing effect of "silver ion"
2, 23. 2008
Kobayashi Pharmaceutical Co. announced on Feb. 13, 2008 that it will refund the purchasers of its all 15 items of products on the ground that it had exaggerated in advertising the sterilizing effect of the products as they contained "silver ion."
The company said the products did not have enough sterilizing effect because, among other things, they did not contain enough "silver ion." The products that are refunded for are the deodorant items bearing labels that say "deodorizing by 'silver ion'" and other deodorant sprays. The company said it will take steps to prevent the recurrence of the similar problem and have their products bear accurate labels.
