Dole Japan, Tokyo-based subsidiary of Dole Food Company in the U. S. A., started to sell a special and scarce breed of white corn on September 7, 2009. The corn is named as Dole Pearl Corn, and it will be in market for only three weeks.
Dole Pearl Corn is a type of pure white corn, and it's named because of its brilliant white color resembling a shining pearl. Pure white corn is precious because it can only been grown in Hidaka-Iburi region in Hokkaido, a place with extreme temperature. It has a creamy flavor and intense sweetness.
Dole Pearl Corn is priced at 3,500 yen for ten pieces each weighing 300 grams. Latest information of the corn is being released on Twitter.
